We have created this space for our BACK TWO followers who have been requesting it.
Why? Well, there is so much being plastered about... hitting your phone or computer, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter (X) to name but a few, let alone Junk and spam in your email! Much of what we can post, gets lost in the ether... Many times people have said to us... ''I didn't know you were here or there? I would have come to that or I didn't hear that song must have missed it!'' ''How can I keep track of you and find out information...do you have a place where I can find these things without having to sift through pages of things I don't want to see'' ''If I see something of yours and want to see a bit more or listen again later, often I can't find it and its frustrating'' and more... generally a website is the answer, but it needs to be more specific. It is also frustrating for us. We spend hours writing songs, rehearsing for shows, putting together set lists, recording, mainly in our own studio-come dining area, designing posters, Cds and covers, and more... to be able to produce a 'show', a CD, a new song, etc... Yes the 'Spotifys' of this world are important, where you can showcase to the world (along with the other 120,000 plus songs that are uploaded DAILY!) In 2018 it was around 20,000 daily uploaded. Nearly 40,000 daily in 2019. Over 93,000 daily in 2022 and 120,000 songs daily uploaded in 2023. So that is just under 44 Million songs uploaded to Spotify alone in 2023. BACK TWO have 315 followers on Spotify... and between 35 and 50 regular monthly listeners on Spotify. Spotify has approx 246 million and growing (followers) across its whole platform - this has grown massively since 2015. Spotify is somewhere as an artist, that you feel you have to be in... but, lets be honest its mainly for this following conversation. Meet someone for first time and chatting... Them: So what do you do then? Me: singer, performer, musician...amongst other things... Them: Have you got anything on Spotify? .......... A version of that conversation mainly follows when you are being booked for the first time. Interestingly, just from talking to close family and friends, so few of them have downloaded any of our stuff. Because they are mainly fans of us, not of BACK TWO and that is absolutely fine. We need to look after our BACK TWO fans. As entertainers and performers we know that our followers across the world (yes we have many downloads in far flung countries) deserve our best service and just being on those sites is not fair on our audience. We have a small (but always growing) following which is so appreciated, we are somewhat niche in our style and we are known as being chameleons as there is not really any style of music that we haven't challenged to some degree. Most recently we have finally been getting around to spending much more time writing and producing many more of our own compositions, songs that we have had individually or together had kicking around on scraps of paper for years (decades in some cases) This is in turn creating a new section of followers which is truly amazing. Our VIP Special web page access is the start of a new journey. We have often been asked: 'How do you write your own songs, who does what?' 'What comes first?' 'How long does it take to learn other songs?' 'How do you choose songs to cover?' 'Is it hard to sing in front of an audience?' 'Do you get nervous?' 'Can you read music?' 'Can you teach?' 'How long have you been....?' etc etc etc You get the idea. This VIP page will have the opportunity to answer your questions. We have started filming lots of our antics when writing and building our set lists They will take a while to produce but will be worth it. On the subject of videos, we are also actively producing music videos to go along with our releases, we will be back tracking a bit to get them all covered in the fullness of time. We have just finished the production of a music video to go along with our 2024 Christmas single release 'that's What Christmas Is For' The Video is not 'officially' released until next week but in the future the plan is that the VIP page will have the heads upon that sort of thing ahead of time. This area will mean that you hopefully wont miss stuff about us, as long as you know this page is here! If you are here, then thats great! So, we will still post our stuff on social media, as well as here, however, the nitty gritty extra stuff will be exclusive. Only here will you have direct access to listen to our songs directly ... (you won't have to go to 'Spotify or Amazon or wherever...) they will be here for you. To listen to as many times as you would like. You will also be able to download direct from here if you want to... There will be exclusive access to BACK TWO in the form of sharing our information and we plan to have regular 'blogs' here, pictures and recordings that wont be initially available elsewhere, and only to you. |
